[TXT to Esme] Huck: Hey I just wanted to see how you were doing after the ice thing in the warehouse Was that the first time you did anything Let me know if I can do anything to help I know it can be overwhelming

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Hey Huck! And yes, that was my first time. I didn't think I had any magic at all.

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Also, Theo told me you could fly, but I'm afraid I didn't get to see it because I was so busy being traumatized.

[TXT to Esme] Huck: I promise my flying is not terribly exciting but thanks Are you okay At least you didn't get a power that was really dumb like the magical ability to grow facial hair on an impulse

[TXT to Huck] Esme: What are you talking about? How is flying not terribly exciting?

[TXT to Huck] Esme: And I would so DIE if I had magically grown facial hair.

[TXT to Esme] Huck: I cant go real fast and its magical not actually the product of my wingflaps so its a little odd looking Youd probably have a better beard than the ice queen though

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Maybe you just need practice? Then who knows how fast you can fly. And NO. Though I can picture the Ice Queen with a beard.

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Was it scary?

[TXT to Esme] Huck: Imagining the ice queen with a beard? Terribly scary

[TXT to Esme] Huck: LOL

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Yes, that would be terribly scary! But was flying scary!

[TXT to Esme] Huck: That wasnt my first time but it can be scary I've not gone too high because theres always this little doubt in the back of my mind of what if all this magic just one day goes away and what if when it does I'm a hundred feet up

[TXT to Huck] Esme: That would be really scary and I hope that never happens, Huck. Do you think that would ever happen? That the magic would disappear?

[TXT to Esme] Huck: Honestly I don't know but I do know that it isn't permanent because when we go to the mainland it goes away So who knows

[TXT to Huck] Esme: That's good to know, I guess. Right?

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Also Huck?

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Tell me the truth

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Did I ruin our float?

[TXT to Esme] Huck: You absolutely did not I'm pretty sure the float was mostly ruined by Theo because it's funnier to blame him for any failures we may possess

[TXT to Huck] Esme: 😡That is so mean!

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Theo didn't even do anything wrong! He was being super helpful!

[TXT to Huck] Esme: I just got a little, no, a lot freaked out!

[TXT to Esme] Huck: It's okay to be freaked out Honestly it's okay to be a little scared too Just stay positive and know that you are surrounded by people who have been through almost exactly the same thing and we're here to help if you want it

[TXT to Huck] Esme: But I could've killed someone! I could've killed Jett! Or I don't know...

[TXT to Esme] Huck: I could say the same thing about you driving a car Any of us could kill someone But you didn't I know you didn't ask me for advice, but I'd like to offer this You're going through something terrifying and awesome and amazing and weird Don't get hung up on what happened in the past when it started Focus on what you do next to learn how to make your next time safer and better for everyone around you and yourself

[TXT to Huck] Esme: I can try. What if it only happens when I'm super scared and when rats are around?

[TXT to Esme] Huck: Then we work with you to make sure that you can at least aim it at something safe when it happens The most important thing is to remember you are not alone and its gonna be okay as long as you let others help

[TXT to Huck] Esme: So... are there mentors for these things?

[TXT to Esme] Huck: Not officially but there are certainly people around who have similar magic that I'm sure would be willing to at least give you pointers

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Maybe I should seek one of those out at some point! Or just figure things out on my own. Well, not on my own, my own. You know what I mean. Surrounded by my friends. Everyone wearing their winter coats to try not to get frost bite OR WORSE impaled by icicles!

[TXT to Esme] Huck: Okay I have a couple thoughts First, if you practice by yourself or with a friend, the skating rink is probably a pretty safe place to be shooting ice Secondly, I'll ask around and see if I can find anyone with a similar power but remember shooting fire is probably the same as shooting ice from a magical process perspective, so we don't have to find someone with the exact same magical power Someone with a similar power would be just as helpful

[TXT to Huck] Esme: Those sound like wonderful ideas! In fact, Theo and I are meeting up at the ice rink tonight to test a few things out, because he was worried too. I guess everyone is worried about me! And that's so.... sweet of all of you. <3 <3 <3 But maybe we can try to make it a thing. Practice our magic at the ice rink. Not just mine, but whatever anyone else has as well.
