2025-02-24 - A boy and his sable

Aaron had gotten off work early, gone to see his parents then texted Josh to see if he like to come hang maybe order out and watch a movie, he knows that Josh has other friends and does not want to snag all his time but well he can't help it. Into the shower he went to clean up and then plopped on the couch to wait for his boyfriend, while waiting at some point Aaron dozed off and well things happened while he was asleep. Waking up not you is a chaotic and terrifying thing and how else to express it but to run around the apartment trying to shift back and knocking things over, some odd sounds are coming from 103 Deer Hollow.

Josh was on a FaceTime call with his mother when he got the text from Aaron. He texted back "Talking to mom, be there soon." Then he continued the call in which his mother grilled him on every single thing ever, which is a draining, exhausting process for Josh. When he was finally able to get off the call he headed over Aaron's.

He arrives at Aaron's apartment and knocks on the door. No answer. He knocks again. When he hears the racket coming from within he tries the door and finds it to be unlocked. He push it open. "Aaron?" he says uncertainly. "It's Josh. You in there?"

The small little snuggle bunnies seem to be all excited and looking around letting out their little five-note trills, there are things knocked over and noise coming from the kitchen, the fridge is open and there seems to be some kind of growling coming from in there. Aaron has yet to answer and show himself, perhaps he went for a walk or something. When the door opens the snuggle bunnies bounce and trill at Joshua their ears are straight up and their little eyes are wide open in excitement perhaps or fright hard to tell.

No Aaron. Growling noise coming from the kitchen. Snugglebunnies all worked up in a frenzy. Josh starts getting concerned here. He checks his phone to see if Aaron has texted him back yet. Nothing.

Shutting the front door behind him, Josh calls out, "Is there anyone in here? I'm capable of defending myself. Like...you have no fucking idea. I don't wanna hurt you. Who's there?"

Aaron-Sable's nose peeks up over the counter sniffing the air, then clawed paws come up and a head pops up with what looks like a stake hanging out of its mouth. Its eyes look to Joshua and it makes a sound and ducks back down with its snack and starts to munch out more with what sounds like yummy sounds coming from it or warning sounds. There is a moment when Joshua might have felt something tickle at the back of his brain but then it's gone. The head pops up again to see if Joshua has moved and then back down to chow down on the raw meat! Mmmm, yummy!

Joshua blinks a few times as he starts to move around so he can see the kitchen. His brow is furrowed in concentration. No way this can be coincidence. No way that Aaron just happens to be out when a little marmot breaks into his apartment.

"Aaron?" he says, folding his arms over his chest, peering at the creature. "Is that...is that you?" He wrinkles his nose distastefully. "And why are you eating raw steak? Do you need me to cook some dinner for you?" Josh can't cook for shit. It is known.

Aaron-Sable makes a few hops in the kitchen, he is a larger-looking wesel a hiss comes from him as he looks down at the stake then to Joshua, there are a few front paw pounces and some grunts and growls. They are not threatening or anything just well amusing as he tries to communicate.

The Sable starts to move around the kitchen, its ears are back and Joshua can see it's nervous and maybe even scared. It runs between his legs and tries to hide under the couch only thing is Aaron doesn't realize its back legs, back end, and tail are sticking out from under the couch as he tries to hide.

The snuggle Bunnies panic a little and run off the couch and to Joshua.

This scenario is all too familiar to Joshua. It wasn't all that long ago that a little fennec fox peed on the kitchen floor and then ran under the bed and had to be coaxed out of there. First thing's first, Josh scoops up the babies and brings them in close to his face. He nuzzled and kisses them. "It's okay, you guys, Aaron is just having a tough time. I'm gonna help him, I promise." He carries them into Aaron's bedroom and sets them on a pillow, then kisses them both one more time.

Then he emerges from the back into the living room. He shakes his head and moves over to where sable-butt is sticking out from under the couch. He lies on the floor and whispers soothingly, "Aaron, I'm gonna touch you now. It's Josh. You remember me. Your boyfriend. So you know I would never do anything to hurt you."

He gives that a moment or two to sink in then he starts to so, so, so fucking gently caress Sable-Aaron's fur. "It's okay, baby, you're safe. This is just your magic working." He gives sable-butt some soft, gentle kisses. "Come on, Aaron. You're an awesome little critter now." Josh hasn't the very slightest clue what kind of marmot Aaron is right now. "You should be having fun running around and being a mental lil guy."

There are a few little grunts as Joshua moves to lie on the floor and starts to talk to him in a soft soothing voice, turning his body to stick his nose out and sniff, there is a soft chirp-like sound that comes from him. His telepathy isn't working at the moment so he has to rely on body language, his fur is very soft almost like touching one of those extra soft blankets. His body tenses at first but then relaxes, backing out from under the couch Aaron-Sable looks to Joshua tilting his head to the side.

Looking at Josh, he can see this large marmot is intelligent it knows things, the wheels are turning inside its head, and on its hind legs, it walks closer to Josh putting a front paw on his cheek, and then sniffs at Joshua's face giving his nose a tiny lick.

A warm smile crosses Josh's face. "Hey, I have a boyfriend and it's getting really serious. I can't just go around getting licked by every cute little animal that comes along." With the slowest of movements, Josh scoops up Sable-Aaron. He rolls on his back and sets the critter on his chest. He slowly pets and strokes the animal. "Your fur is so soft, baby," he says.

He puts his thumbs on either side of the sable-face and rubs then up and down gently. "Raw steak," he says with a small laugh, that causes his chest and the marmot sitting on his chest to vibrate. "I'm deadass not kissin' you when you change back if you have raw meat breath."

Aaron gives him small chittering sounds when he is scooped up and put on his chest, the sable starts to nuzzle around on Joshua, moving on its belly and moving its head and nose through his long hair. He rubs his face and long neck and body along Josh's neck and under his chin happy to be sitting on top of him.

Sable-Aaron looks at Joshu all seriously when he talks about not kissing him, his round ears move back and forth like little radar dishes. Is that a little Sable smirk that comes to the animal's lips, when Josh starts to laugh and his body vibrates he moves to start licking his chin, itit'sime for a Sable face bath!

Just like when the babies lick him, Josh really seems to enjoy this sensation. He closes his eyes and lets Sable-Aaron clean his face. As he does, Josh rewards him with lovely, gentle little strokes down his fur.

"You should apologize to the babies," he murmurs softly. "They are super freaked out about this. I put them on your pillow to relax." He takes a deep breath then wrinkles his nose. "You're a lil stinker. Like literally. Something about you smells all weird." Sables naturally have scent glands in their abdomens. Domesticated sables generally have them removed.

Aaron stops and looks at Joshua he starts to sniff at his body now, worried he smells! he starts to chitter at Joshua his round ears go back a little and it makes him look so grumpy. He sits back and he starts to try and clean himself as if that would help him, he is quick in his movements he doesn't want to smell or make Joshua smell! He quickly jumps off his chest and moves away he doesn't want to Sable-Aaron anymore he hasn't wanted to be! Whyy does he keep changing? Silly Magic!

His head looks to the bedroom door and then back at Joshua as he closes his eyes maybe that will help him change back! There are some chitter sounds again and a grunt, it looks like perhaps he is changing back. When he is in a panic it makes it so much harder to shift for him!

Josh's face blossoms into a big, giggling grin as he watches Sable-Aaron attempting to clean himself. But then it appears as if some distress is setting in and that sobers Josh instantly.

He gets up and follows the critter. "Hey, hey, hey, it's all good, baby. Don't stress it." He sits cross-legged on the ground next to the marmot and scoops him back up and into his lap. He strokes the fur softly. "Close your eyes, baby," he whispers gently. "Just remember what it feels like to be Aaron. Think about what it feels like to kiss me. You just need a mental anchor to change back. Relax and don't force it."

Aaron is scooped up again and Sable-Aaron wraps his front legs around Joshua's neck they are long enough and his head moves to rest on his shoulder. He listens to Joshua closing his eyes and trying to relax, he sinks his weight into Josh letting him hold him gently.

He starts to slowly shift back holding onto Joshua, he doesn't know if he will ever get used to shifting ists only his second time and it keeps happening when he isn't ready for it! "Josh!" he whispers as he hugs him close, his face nuzzling into his neck to hide it. He isn't letting go, nope not letting go!.."I'm sorry, I dozed off and woke up like that."

Strong, loving arms wraps around Aaron. "Shhhh, Aaron, don't be sorry. It's your magic working." He sits there in the dark on the bedroom floor, holding his boyfriend, stroking his hair, rocking him for as long as it takes. He'll literally sit there until morning if that's what it takes to calm down the man he loves. He coos calming noises, sometimes saying Aaron's name, until his boyfriend gives some indication that he's going to be alright.

Aaron breaths deeply, "It freaks me out, I don't know if I will ever get used to it." he says softly placing a soft kiss on Joshua's neck, At least his body is not trembling so much it's vibrating now. He looks over to the pillows, "The poor Babies, they must have been freaked out." he is sad he made the small ones upset. "I will have to have to give them something extra special." he sniffles a little and sits up his fingers running through Joshua's hair, "Thank you, Babe."

Josh tips his head to one side and peers at Aaron as he strokes Aaron's fuzzy face lovingly. Then he his head in the opposite direction, still watching his boyfriend with such love in his eyes. His gaze roams over Aaron's face. He idly and gently runs his fingertips over Aaron's facial piercings. Then he glides both thumbs across Aaron's eyebrows.

"Say something nice about yourself," Josh prods in an affectionate tone of voice.

Aaron closes his eyes when Josh caresses his face and his piercings, he looks into Joshua's eyes now his head tilting to the side watching him. He falls silent for the moment as if he doesn't know what to say about himself, he never really said anything nice about himself.

He bites the corner of his lip and chews on it for a moment before in a soft voice, "I have pretty eyes."

Josh's expression bursts into a delighted smile and he nods enthusiastically. "Fuck yeah, your eyes are sooooooo dope," he instantly agrees. He slowly leans forward and kisses both of Aaron's eyes one at a time.

"The halcyon settled on the air of our days, kingfisher-blue it broke my heart in two," Josh says in a tone like one who is quoting something written. As he speaks he holds Aaron's cheeks snuggly and then leans in to kiss his man, slowly and lovingly with no hurry of any kind, like he could sit there on the bedroom floor holding Aaron and just kiss him until the sun burns out.

Aaron blushes as Joshuaagreess his eyes are pretty, he grins as his eyes are kissed and he looks to Joshua with the same loving look in his eyes. He still can't believe he is sitting in the lap of the man he loves, it all happened so fast but he does not give up on anything or change it.

He returns the soft kiss, his hand resting on Joshua's cheek fingers curling over his jaw line as his eyes slide close as the kiss, he could sit like this forever lost in the tender embrace of his boyfriend. After a long moment of kissing, "What was the quote from?" he asks softly his lips still pressed in against Joshua's.

Only with great reluctance does Josh pull away from this kiss. His eyes are hooded and satisfied. He shakes his head. "I don't remember. It was from a poem I read when I was in high school. I had a crush on my English Lit teacher, who had super blue eyes. I think that's why I remembered it." Book nerd alert.

He slowly stands up and urges Aaron to his feet. "Can I sleep here?" he asks as his warm, soft, writer's hands cradle Aaron's cheeks. "You got really freaked out and I don't want you to be alone tonight."

Aaron smiles nodding his head, "Sometime, I am going to have you read to me Josh. That would be amazing to just snuggle and listen to your voice." he grins.

Moving to stand up he looks to Joshua nodding his head, "Yes, I would like it if you did." he leans his cheek into those warm writer's hands enjoying the feel of them on his cheeks. " I don't want to be alone tonight." his fingers come up to caress over his jawline. "I think the babies would like it if you stayed too."
