Maintenace: Something broken? He's your guy.
Fixer: Coop is very good not only at fixing things, but fixing things. Need a task done on the down-low? Need someone to ask around with any shady characters in the course of looking into something? Need someone to keep an ear to the ground? Grease his palm and he's happy to take on the job, no questions asked. He's very good at being sneaky and getting into places he shouldn't because of his ability.
Weed hook-up: He doesn't run his own grow-op but he knows a guy who knows a guy who can get you some premium BC bud.
The Other Kind of Hook-up: Cooper is active on various hook-up apps. If you're MLM, you might've seen his face (or his abs) on the app.
Magic Fanboy: He loves all the weird things that go on in the park. The stranger the better. If something is going wacky, he'd love to see it or hear about it.
70s-90s Movie Buff: Coop's dad had a massive VHS and DVD collection so his childhood was spent on a steady diet of Millennial and GenX classics.
Cooper Sinclair was born in the Ottawa Valley town of Arnprior, Ontario. His father, Gord ran a garage where Cooper worked from a young age. His American mother, Andrea had disappeared when Cooper was only 7, leaving his father with sole custody. When Coop was 13, his father remarried a woman named Cassie.
When he was 14, his father died of a heart attack. Cassie hadn't adopted him and he had no other family, so he ended up in the foster system. Grief over his father's death, the trauma of being without family and general teenage rebellion meant he got in a lot of trouble. Most of his crimes were small like dealing weed and petty theft. What got him in real trouble was the gig he picked up in a chop shop. The garage where he'd been working got raided and landed him in juvenile detention.
When Cooper was released, he was a few months shy of his 18th birthday when his records were sealed. It was a chance at a fresh start. He decided to hit the road and spent the next few years wandering from place to place taking on odd jobs.
Cooper's tendency to radical self-reliance was solidified.Two gifts his mother had given him before she disappeared were his charisma and dual Canada/US citizenship. It came in handy when he got an offer to hitch a ride from Sault Ste. Marie to Detroit. While stopping for gas in Traverse City, Cooper saw a billboard advertising jobs at Spellbound. Given Cooper had no plans for what he'd do in Detroit, he applied for a job.
Thanks to his background, he qualified for park maintenance. And then there was the magic. His ability to change his appearance started with simple eye colour and cosmetic changes. Soon, he realized he could control far more than that. The ability blossomed until he could change his appearance completely, and he embraced it - along with all the other weird things in the park. He felt like Pinocchio finding Pleasure Island. Perhaps this would finally be a place he'd belong.
He's a little shorter than average, but well-built and well-proportioned. He's got excellent hair. It's blond and curly with just enough body to give him easy surfer charm. His eyes are clear blue and his lips are bowed. There's an old scar on the left side of his mouth. When not on-duty he tends to wear dark t-shirts and jeans in not the best state of repair. The best piece of clothing he owns is an old beat up black leather moto jacket.
