Most of Layla's tattoos are Deq tattoos, a traditional Kurdish practice that dates back at least 1500 years. Her most common recurring symbol is the sun (roj in Kurdish), which is the symbol most associated with the Kurdish people, representing hope, the source of life, and renewal.

Stomach: Black Deq tattoos running from her abs up to just underneath her chest. The wide, straight lines represent the sun. The circular clusters of dots represent flowers, while the diamond-shaped clusters represent stars.

The proceeds from all tickets and donations go toward local organizations providing coverage for heating bills, local food pantries, and winter clothing drives for local families. Greatest Show On Ice: Layla is one of the main ice skating performers in the Ice Palace shows. While she's been ice skating for years and that's her main gig, she also has acting and musical experience, and is more than happy helping out with other kinds of performances around the park.

Still Getting Used To Things: Layla grew up in a Kurdish family in Northern Syria before her parents brought her to the States when she was about ten. They moved around the US for a while before ending up in Michigan. She's got a good grip on life in America by now, but definitely has a different perspective on many things.

Yum: Loves to cook during her free time, when she often makes Kurdish dishes she grew up eating. She especially loves cooking for others and sharing new things with them.

Born in the city of Qamishlo in Northern Syria to Kurdish parents. Has two younger siblings.
Family fled to the United States as refugees when Layla was 12. They moved around the country for several years before settling in Detroit.
Throughout high school, Layla competed in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities, ranging from soccer to musicals and acting. Her greatest passion, though, was ice skating, which she won a significant number of awards in. However, despite her high-flying success, Layla was never able to make it to the Olympics, due in part to her status as a refugee.
After graduating, Layla bounced around jobs ice skating around the country before eventually beginning work at Spellbound.

Long and lithe with dark hair that falls past her shoulders, Layla is consistently sleek and stylish. Every movement is smooth and purposeful, helped by an athletic physique. Her eyes are dark and often lined with kohl.
