Located In: Spellbound Island - Boo'edwalk
From the outside, the château looks rundown and decrepit, the kind of house poised at the end of the lane that has enough macabre stories floating around it that people are too scared to walk by. Occasionally, darkened figures can be seen in the upper windows, and the front door creaks ominously to allow guests within the sanctum.
Inside isn't entirely different, with curtains that flutter in the still air and strange sounds and moans coming from unseen corners. The side rooms are set up to only host a few tables each, thanks to the clutter of antiques and odd pieces of artwork that decorate the edges, a collection unique and sprawling enough to be the life's work of some eccentric. It leads to a fairly intimate experience, especially with the damask wallpaper patterned subtly with bats, owls, and other creatures of the night in jewel tones and the dark wood flooring, both of which contribute to the hemmed-in feeling. With dim lamps or flickering candlelight being the primary means of illumination, the shadowed rooms hold the promise of a truly supernatural experience.
The menu is a prix fixe affair, rotating often with the seasons. Reservations can be hard to come by, but the waitstaff are friendly (if a bit odd, to add to the ambiance) and the food French-inspired fusion.
