Animal Forms

Description

This ability allows an individual to transform themselves into an animal form. While in said form, the transformed individual retains all cognitive abilities, awareness, and memories of the fact that they are indeed a person within an animal body. They also gain instinctive knowledge of how to move and use the natural abilities of the animal form that they have acquired and can use them with the same level of adeptness as a natural adult animal of that type.

While transformed, the individual may communicate with one person at a time via a limited telepathic link that allows for the transmission of verbal communication only. The connection requires line of sight to activate and then may be maintained until one or both parties breaks the connection.

There is no roll required for this ability. It is considered an innate part of the individual's being.

Limits

Animals must be naturally occurring within Earth's material plane. They can be no smaller than a mouse and no larger than a draft horse. The individual must have seen a sufficiently clear example of the animal in question to assume the form. The example must be in person, a photo, a video, or someone else's memory/current vision of the same. The telepathic link requires OOC consent of the target or the owner of the target NPC.

The transformation can be performed at will, occurs instantly, and lasts until the individual chooses to change back.

Items that could be considered to be worn on one's person change with them within reason -- clothing, a bow across one's back, a small backpack, but little more than that. This does not apply to living things. If you have rats in your pockets, the rats don't change with you. If you are carrying a tiered cake, the cake doesn't go with you. Once an individual takes a particular animal form, that form will appear the same every time that they take it thereafter.

Combat System

To join combat in your animal form, "combat/join #/form" where form is one of the following: quadruped, avian, serpentine, aquatic, hexapod, or insect

To equip an appropriate weapon, type one of the following:

• combat/weapon claw+small for small animals
• combat/weapon claw for mid sized animals
• combat/weapon claw+powerful for large and powerful animals
• combat/weapon bite+small for small animals
• combat/weapon bite for mid sized animals
• combat/weapon bite+powerful for large and powerful animals
• combat/weapon buffet for a wing buffet
• combat/weapon tentacle lash for a tentacled creature

To equip an appropriate armor level for larger/tougher creatures type the following:

• combat/armor tough creature for a particularly resilient/armored creature.
