Mirror Walking

Description

This ability represents the art of using mirrors to move between places. An individual with this ability can step into a mirror in one location and step out of a mirror in another location. The space "between" mirrors is a kind of distorted reality that few will ever see unless they get trapped there with an embarrassing failure roll or a plot device.

This ability requires a roll to activate. Failure indicates nothing happens. An embarrassing failure will trap the individual between mirrors. Put in a request to staff if this happens.

Limits

An individual may only step from one mirror they have personally looked into to another mirror they have personally looked into. The mirror must be of a size large enough to climb through -- no handheld mirrors or pocket mirrors. The mirror must be a still reflective surface in which one can see one's own reflection -- no puddles in a rainstorm or crinkled cellophane. Taking another PC or NPC belonging to another player with you requires their consent.

Levels
1 Individuals may traverse alone from mirror to mirror anywhere on the Isles of Wonder.
2 Individuals may hold a mirror open by maintaining contact with it to let others step through with them anywhere on the Isles of Wonder. Once contact is broken, the portal closes.
3 Individuals may now leave a mirror portal open even after breaking contact, allowing two way travel by any individual who walks through it. Only one portal may be maintained this way at a time. The individual must touch it again to close it.
