Located In: Spellbound Island - Mechano-Arcana Midway
The Ferris Wheel towers high above the midway area with a fantastic view of both Spellbound Island and across the water to the Queen's Castle on Castle Island. Each gondola has room enough for four -- two on each side -- and is covered and sheltered from the weather. Each bench is padded with a comfortable blue or purple cushion and is just slightly smaller than a half circle to make room for the door in and out.
The lights along the cross beams shimmer in blues, whites, and violets as it slowly turns, allowing plenty of time to take in the view and listen to the music playing below. If one times their ride right, it's possible to get a perfect view of the fireworks show over Castle Island.
Down below, one can hear the sounds of the park, the music playing, the sounds of voices, and other shows and rides, muted a little bit by the distance when one is at the very top. The smell of popcorn and roasted nuts as well as other snacks from the carts serving the midway and giant circus tent waft up from below every so often.
