During the initial exploration of this world, the team discovered that the portal opens into the remains of a condemned brick building in a run-down neighborhood at the east end of the city. The team have codenamed the world "Dusk" since it's a lot like our world but a little darker, both due to unusually short periods of daylight with a long night in between, and due to the presence of a number of supernatural factions that are all at odds with one another. Then of course, there are those who would be more than happy to eliminate the Supernatural from the city altogether.
An NPC team of Magical Studies, Security, and Medical Personnel.
Due to the relatively modern-ish nature of this world and its inhabitants, we are able to move through it without standing out too much. There is a degree of danger due to the rivalries going on within the world itself. There are creatures with supernatural abilities, but it seems that humans are largely unhappy about coexisting with them. Move with caution. Those with abilities are treated with suspicion and humans are used to being collateral damage in the fighting between them.
This world can be further explored, though travel with caution. Please try to keep the location of the portal secret for your own safety.
Technology and fashion seem on par with that of the modern U.S.
The currency is slightly different from our own, but there are multiple ways to obtain some including doing jobs for the residents of the world, trading for items that they might want, or less legitimate means.
World maps, however, show an altered geography with varying country names. Some are familiar, others are not. The city itself seems to be a fairly large east coast city named Wakefield.
A vampire club located downtown, a short cab ride from the end of the street where the portal is located on the far east side.
Arriving at the club, there's a rounded set of steps that lead up to a pair of double doors that have curling ivy vines for handles. Above, in a gothic font it reads "Hollow Club" with the image of a silhouette of a large twisted tree, a large hollow in the center of it beneath warped and finger-like branches. The sound of music can be heard even from the street.
The club itself has several levels. The main floor sits among the roots of an enormous twisted tree sculpture that extends all the way from the first floor to the third and serves as a spiraling staircase upward. The first floor hosts a dance floor and the main bar areas, the second a mezzanine, for the who's who to watch and be seen, the tables close against the railing so that everyone can enjoy the view, and the third, a little more distant, a little more private and quiet, where darkened booths can't even be seen from the lower levels, hidden among the spare branches that form the balcony railing.
The lighting shifts from dark deep blues and purples to emerald greens and teals, punctuated by the occasional pulsing heartbeat of crimson red that seems to emanate from deep within the tree itself.
